47th International School & Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors

"Jaszowiec 2018"

Poland, June 16th - 22nd, 2018

School - Special Tutorial Session

The Special Tutorial Session (School) in solid state physics will take place just before the Conference, during the weekend of 16th - 17th of June, 2018. There will be five lectures during the school given by outstanding scientists and addressed to undergraduate, PhD students, and young researchers. The aim is to expose young people to new ideas and concepts from the frontier of semiconductor physics, and provide an opportunity to interact with renowned scientists, leaders of their field of study. A relaxed schedule, friendly atmosphere, and comfortable venue will provide time, space, and ambience to discuss the lectures and semiconductor physics in general.

Invited speakers:

  • Jelena Klinovaja (University of Basel, Switzerland)
Topological states in low-dimensional systems (topic unconfirmed)

  • Charlotte Sanders (Aarhus University, Denmark)
Spin and valley control of transition metal dichalcogenides (topic unconfirmed)

  • Roland Wiesendanger (University of Hamburg, Germany)
Scanning probe imaging and spectroscopy of the solid state systems down to atomic level (topic unconfirmed)

  • Jöerg Wunderlich (Hitachi Cambridge Laboratory, University of Cambridge, UK)
